While resources are constricting all around us, we are all digging deeper into our toolboxes to do our work. HSF is a great tool because it provides tangible, useful support such as trainings and workshops, along with being a connector across agencies and across communities. HSF has given me an opportunity to meet colleagues at in-person events that I may have never met.  These connections are invaluable; you can’t tie a value to being able to reach out to the network to share ideas, validate thoughts, problem-solve with a colleague, or partner in a new way. These opportunities are all made possible by HSF’s work.

Markus R. Jones

Interim President & CEO, Riverside Technologies

HSF makes our agency stronger by connecting us to the people who share our commitment to this work. Every time I attend a panel or breakfast gathering, I walk away with new perspectives and practical ideas I can apply directly at Riverside. HSF even brings local funders to the table for real conversations about the challenges and opportunities in our field. Through HSF’s partnership with Catchafire, our team connected with skilled volunteers who helped us rewrite our employee handbook and conduct grant research. HSF is much more than a membership organization. It’s a community of peers working together to advance the human services sector. I’m grateful to Becca, her team, and the Board for making it possible.

HAP partnered with the Human Service Forum this year to customize a new Customer Service Training specific to the nonprofit work that we do.  This collaboration allowed us to implement this training across all different levels of our staff and saved HAP thousands of dollars.  This partnership proved to be very cost effective and has improved our customer service!

Congratulations on putting together a great CEO luncheon.  The feeling in the room was overwhelming positive and it was very well attended.  It is so easy to forget the value of stepping away from our work and talking with others who face similar day to day challenges. I am meeting one of the new Exec’s for lunch which I think is exactly one of the outcomes you were hoping for – personal connections.

Clare Higgins

Executive Director, Community Action

Community Action staff have really benefitted from supervisory training offered by the Human Service Forum. The training was in depth and affordable! These training opportunities have been great for our supervisors!
